Hansa Hydrocarbons awarded licences in Germany and the Netherlands

Hansa Hydrocarbons has recently been awarded a number of licences in the Dutch and German sectors of the Southern North Sea. The awards comprise five contiguous licences, namely Blocks N04, N05, N07c & N08 in the Netherlands and the Geldsackplate licence in Germany.

Norway: Statoil submits plan for development in the Gullfaks area

Statoil and its partners have submitted an amendment to the Plan for Development and Operations (PDO) for the Gullfaks licence to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for Phase 1 of the Shetland/Lista development.

Germany has delayed a parliamentary vote on new rules for the disputed technique of fracking for shale gas after parties in Chancellor Angela Merkel’s coalition failed to agree on final details, lawmakers said on Tuesday.

Norway: Statoil starts Johan Sverdrup construction

Statoil reports that construction work has commenced, at Kværner in Verdal, on the biggest industrial project in Norway for decades to come. Production of the first elements on the Johan Sverdrup project has begun.

UK: Cuadrilla comments on Lancashire County Council’s decision to reject gas fracking application at Preston New Road

Cuadrilla Resources has issued a statement in response to Lancashire County Council’s Development Control Committee’s decision to deny planning consent for the application to drill, fracture and flow test up to four wells at Preston New Road, near Blackpool in Lancashire.

UK: UKOG farms into PEDL143, Holmwood Prospect, Weald Basin, UK

AIM-listed UK Oil & Gas Investments (UKOG) has executed a Farm-in agreement with Egdon Resources to acquire a 20% interest in UK onshore licence PEDL143, further increasing UKOG’s interests in the Weald Basin. The operator of PEDL143 is Europa Oil & Gas.

Kazakhstan: Eni and KazMunayGas agree to jointly explore the Isatay offshore block
